Professor Simon Broadley



Professor Simon Broadley is Dean of Medicine and Head of the School of Medicine, Griffith University and Senior Staff Specialist in Neurology at Gold Coast University Hospital. He runs a specialist multiple sclerosis clinic and also provides general neurology on call and outpatient services.

He undertook his primary medical degree at the University of Manchester, UK and completed an intercalated year in Immunology and Experimental Oncology (with Honours). He undertook basic physician training in Liverpool, UK during which time he completed the MRCP examination process and advanced training in Neurology in Bristol, UK. As part of his advanced training he undertook a PhD in the genetics of multiple sclerosis with Professor Alastair Compston at the University of Cambridge. He has been with the School of Medicine at Griffith University and practicing on the Gold Coast for 12 years.

He has published over 100 peer reviewed articles, book chapters and other published works. His research interests include the epidemiology, genetics and treatment of multiple sclerosis.
